Abstract
Nursing research is defined as a scientific process that validates and improves the existing knowledge and generates new knowledge that influences in clinical nurse, directly or indirectly. With the incorporation of the studies at University, the role and the professional competences of nursing have evolved towards an autonomous position, responsible and with an own field of knowledge. With this work, it is intended to make nurses aware of the importance that has research for the development of the profession and the benefits that provides. Identifying their role in research as professional nurses. Through research we can prove evolution in healthcare practice, we encourage professional autonomy and an independent role, we achieve it to be done in the interdisciplinary teams and the users and the society perceive it.
