Resumo

The ability to develop alliances with other human beings plays an essential role in order to improve our health conditions and thus also of our species. These emotional ties both within the family and in the wider social environment, diverse functions in the development of the processes of living and therefore also of illness. While our ties are stable, we maintain the ability to establish new relationships, to move forward, growing, learning. Both the instability in these ties as the direction exert their influence throughout the different stages of the disease, stand out as one of the highlights in achieving a more or less successful adaptation of this process. In this paper, from the initial phase of normalcy seven moments that patients are progressing in their process of chronicity are described. A path in a first phase characterized by the search for solutions partially ineffective, the appearance of false hopes and emotional exhaustion, that are going to reach a new steady state. A long set where others, mainly those with close emotional ties have not been mere spectators process.
