The hidradenitis suppurative (HS) or acne inverse, refers to a painful, chronic, suppurative process involving the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Clinical manifestations of HS appear to result from occlusion of the follicle-pile-sebaceous units. Physical pain, odor, chronic drainage, and disfigurement are common features of this disorder. The symptoms of HS often have a profound negative effect on the quality of life of the person who has it. The first lesions and clinical symptoms of HS often mimic other disorders. Rapid recognition of correct diagnosis is important. The objective of this article was to describe this type of disease and what care and treatments are necessary and adequate to improve quality of care
