Abstract

The collection of Silphidae (Coleoptera) housed in the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (CSIC) of Madrid is revised. 20 specimens are studied, mostly collected in the XIXth century, belonging to the following species: Oxelytrum anticola (Guérin-Méneville, 1855), Oxelytrum biguttatum (Philippi, 1859), Oxelytrum discicolle (Brullé, 1840), Oxelytrum erythrurum (Blanchard, 1840), Oxelytrum lineatocolle (Laporte, 1840) and Nicrophorus didymus (Brullé, 1840). Most of these specimens were not hitherto determined and thus remained unpublished.
