Abstract
Based on a specimen from the region of Piedemonte Orinocense (Colombia, South America), a new species within the genus Oxelytrum Gistel, 1848 (Coleoptera, Silphidae), Oxelytrum nairoi sp. nov., is described. Its systematic position is discussed and updated identification keys to the species belonging to this genus are also provided.
