Resumo
Staphylococcus aureus methicillin-resistant cause infections of the skin and soft tissues acquired in the community in patients without risk factors, being more prevalent in pediatric population and young adults, being able to progress to fascitis and necrotizing pneumonia. Unlike the hospital strains, these stand out by their sensitivity to multiple antimicrobials and their genetic characteristics. Its main mechanism is through direct contact between people, although it can also be produced through the contact of domestic and farm animals. In the case of purulent infections of skin and soft tissues, its treatment consists of incision and drainage of the wound as well as antibiotic therapy being the most effective clindamycin, clotrimoxazole and in serious infections vancomycin and linezolid. As a preventive measure, it is worth mentioning a correct hygiene. For this reason, early detection is necessary for an integral approach to this pathology in primary care.
