Abstract
Significant progress has been made for our societies in human, social or health rights in recent decades. These achievements, however, have not been extended to the entire population; there is still a social subclass comprising citizens with a mental illness (MS) who are excluded from such progress. People get sick and recover in society, the current bio-medical hegemonic discourse and neoliberal policies have despised the fragility of the human being as a social being. This research work has come to corroborate in the province of Ourense the social difficulty to provide full understanding, the inclusive opportunities and the indispen-sable respect that will allow the citizen with an MS an adequate personal recovery.
