Abstract
The experience in the course of a day's work in a particular section of a hospital emergency department is the basis of this narration. It is of a rather demanding character, encouraging us to reflect upon the female nurse, the nursing and care as essence, how health-care politics affect the health of the patient and the professionals (in all their facets), as well as the gradual loss of the concept of humanization.
