Nuevas prácticas sexuales y su relación con las infecciones de transmisión sexual

Resumo

AIM: There are many sexual practices unknown by society, whose existence we cannot deny at all. It happens because, some of them, are strongly related to a great risk of getting a STI by not using prevention methods. The objective is to spread knowledge and understanding of those practices among population, in order to achieve effective interventions in sexual health promotion. METHODS: Bibliographic review in Cuiden Plus, Cinahl, BVS, LILACS, Pubmed and Google Scholar databases, limiting to articles published between 2009 and 2020 in Spanish and English: a search strategy adapted to these different databases were performed. RESULTS: Different sexual practices where found. It was attempted to understand the personal motivations, feelings and contributions from this activity, to find out the participants profile and to analyze the hazards that this behavior involves. Conclusion: Currently, most of the incipient sexual practices developed by citizens were closely related with risk behaviors. Not only these practices are responsible of STI increase, but also the fact that prevention methods aren´t always used. In view of this, we must contemplate sexual education as a useful tool to primary prevention. Introducing these newest sexual practices to people could be helpful, in the way of giving information about related risks, how to prevent it and promoting a healthy sexual live.
