Abstract
The case of a 50-year-old male diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia who developed intense potomanic behavior leading to admission to a Semi-closed Unit is presented. Different treatments were tried, the results of which are discussed. The treatments were: olanzapine and propranolol; olanzapine and naltrexone and lastly clozapine and behavioral treatment with good results only on the final attempt. To determine the efficacy of the treatment the daily weight variation index was used.
