Resumen
Metacarpal fractures are one of the main reasons in trauma emergencies, the most frequent being that of the fifth metacarpal, also called boxer’s fracture. They are more common in young people; men and especially the are given more on weekends after alcohol consumption. These fractures are usually caused by punches on hard surfaces or by a fight in the street. In most cases, treatment is usually conservative by placing a splint or cast.
