Resumo

there is a scientific authoritarianism in Medicine derived from a confusion and frequent collision of two different perspectives, the scientific and the clinical one. the scientific view considers the subject as a susceptible object of a mechanistic approach and as a sample individual in statistical studies from which evidence-based Medicine derives that look is useful only to the extent that it respects the singular look, case by case, corresponding to the clinical encounter. as good as science is for the development of Medicine, its exercise always rests in a transference relationship in which scientific knowledge must facilitate the compassionate action inherent in the medical vocation.
