Abstract
Objective: Describe the results of a year of psychological care of the senior resident of Clinical Psychology at the Health Center (HC), analyzing the cases in which psychotherapy is performed from a model of Brief Systemic Family Therapy (BSFT) and group therapy. Material and method: Observational, descriptive design. 46 patients - 42 adults (91%) - treated with BSFT from May 2016 to May 2017; 33 (71,7%) women, referred by HC professionals - mostly by their general practitioner (GP), 82,6% - at their own juzgement or at the request of the patient. The course of psychotherapy is monitored with the ORS scale (Outcome Rating Scale)1 and the “Scale of Advances”2 and the therapeutic relationship is evaluated with the SRS scale (Session Rating Scale)1. Results: The average number of sessions is 3.7%. 13% do not attend the second agreed consultation (“Abandonment”). Of those who don’t neglect, 90% qualify as “Success”. Conclusions: The BSFT seems to adapt well to the context of Primary Care (PC). Nine out of ten patients improve their mental health with three or four therapy sessions. In addition, PC turnover is one of the most enriching learning processes in the specialist training of clinical psychology, as it experiences intervention in the first link of health care and collaboration with PC professionals, which facilitates a holistic understanding of the individual and work for health promotion and prevention.
