Abstract

Status epilepticus is defined as a neurological disorder in which the patient suffers from continuous seizures without consciousness recovery between them. This condition is considered a medical emergency; it represents a neurological and vital risk for the patient. This article shows a case of a patient who suffers generalized seizures and status epilepticus. The following article summarizes the process of neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapeutic intervention, as well as the results obtained after the monitoring of the case. Finally, this study presents a discussion of intervention models currently performed in patients with Acquired Brain Injury from the area of Neuropsychology and the necessity is presented to become holistic programs that include families as a scope of intervention and its implementation in the public health system.
