Resumo

Narratives or life stories that are actively and dynamically constructed in relation to multiple interacting personal and psychosocial factors. In the face of potentially harmful events, such as burn injuries, the person may experience a life breakdown and be forced to rewrite their story based on the event, setting in motion different processes of adaptation and adjustment. This article describes the main elements and themes that are often part of life experiences after a burn injury.
