Abstract

Objective: The objective of the study was to figure out what changes occurred in her daily life performing the role of main caregiver, and also analyze how was her experience about this matter. Methods: To carry out the study, the method used was the biographical account proposed by Amezcua and Hueso. Results: The protagonist of the story is a woman who had to take care of her father with Lewy body dementia. She explains how looking after a dependent person has changed her life and also her closer relatives lifestyle, and how big was the impact in her mental health, her work, and her social life. Conclusions: This is a type of story that narrates a common problem in society, how to care of our elders, how to deal with it, and how this care affects the chief caretaker’s lifestyle.
