Resumo

Introducción: La profilaxis pre-exposición (PrEP) es una nueva estrategia de prevención contra la infección del virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH).Objetivo: Evaluar si el empleo de la PrEP aumenta el riesgo de adquirir otras infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS) bacterianas en hombres que tienen sexo con otros hombres (HSH) con alto riesgo de adquirir la infección por VIH.Metodología: Fue realizada una búsqueda exhaus-tiva de artículos empleando las bases de datos PubMed, Scopus y Web of Science.Resultados: Entre los HSH usuarios de PrEP se produce un aumento en la incidencia de ITS bacterianas, debido en parte, a la realización de pruebas de ITS y VIH más asiduamente en comparación con otras poblaciones. Se determinó la presencia de una compensación del riesgo durante la PrEP.Conclusión: Los HSH pueden experimentar un aumento en la incidencia de ITS bacterianas durante el empleo de la PrEP en comparación al periodo previo sin tratamiento. La percepción de protección provoca que se minusvalore el riesgo de contraer otras ITS en las relaciones sexuales. La práctica de sexo anal sin preser-vativo y el sexo con múltiples parejas destacan como factores que aumentan el riesgo de adquirir ITS entre los usuarios de PrEP
